Artist Statement
Paintings and drawings emerge through observation, experimentation and repetition. Water and pigment cannot be fully controlled, yet they gradually find their own form. The works balance between intention and chance, where material, memory and place become intertwined.
Daurama Project explores the relationship between landscape, architecture and personal experience through contemporary watercolour practice.

About
Julia Daurama is the artistic identity of Hungarian architect and watercolour artist Zsuzsanna Károlyi. Her work explores the relationship between landscape, architecture and memory. Working primarily with watercolour, she embraces process, materiality and the delicate balance between intention and chance.
Through the Daurama Project, she develops contemporary visual narratives rooted in observation, travel and personal experience.
